70th ANNIVERSARY OF THE FORMATION OF

76 AND 77 SQUADRONS

The squadron has advised as follows re-arrangements in respect to marking the 70th anniversary of the squadron’s formation on March 16th 1942.

Movements/Parking/Base Access

Members of the 77 Squadron Association are requested to park in the Fighter World Carpark. Security checks will be conducted in the carpark prior to entering the base by bus. Photo Id for each attendee required.

Parade. Dress for the Parade is smart casual with medals for non-serving members.

Lunch. From 1100 a BBQ lunch will be available at the 77SQN BBQ area. Food is roughly $3 per person and soft drinks are $1 each (no alcohol).

Static and Flying Displays. The static display consisting of Warbirds and Current Operational Aircraft will be located under the 77SQN Carports from 1100-1230 prior to the flying display. The flying display will take place between approximately 1230-1400 and will include a mixture of current and previous 76SQN and 77SQN aircraft.

Dining In Night. 77SQN will conduct a “Hangar Dining In Night” in the squadron hangar starting at 1900 on the evening of 16 Mar 12. The cost for the dining in night is $40. Included in the cost is a buffet dinner, dessert and wine. This is to be paid into the 77SQN Social Club Account (BSB: 803 205 ACCT: 2050 9808) by Fri 2 Mar 12
NB: make sure to include your surname in the description. For people unable to transfer funds electronically, a cheque should be made out to “Social Club 77SQN Grumpy”. The postal address is Social Club C/O LAC M. Hamilton, 77SQN, RAAF Base, Williamtown NSW 2314. Dress for the Dining In Night for non-serving members is smart casual with medals. Transport will be provided to return people to the Fighter World Carpark at the conclusion of the Dining In Night.
